Book: The Elementia Chronicles Book One: The Quest For Justice
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the book we are introduced to our first main character Stan (no last name given) his role is probably the savior of the land due to the fact that in the prologue stating that the world is in trouble and that a unlikely hero will save it from darkness. The second main character we meet with Stan is Charlie (no last name) his role is the supporting, comedic best friend. The third and final main character is Kat (no last name) her role is the butt-kicking and tough best friend who at first people don't like but over time seems to like her personality. I would say Stan is curious, friendly, and fun character who when in trouble they can rely on this is supported by the quote "Wow, Stan thought as he gazed around at the dimly lit morning. This is awesome! Everything is made out of cubes! The dirt on the ground, the trees, even the leaves! And look at that stream over there, Even the water is perfect cubes! You can pick up these... blocks, and build stuff out of them? but there are blocks everywhere! Awesome! Oh wow!"(14). Charlie is a curious, friendly, funny, and cowardly character who is always friendly to others but when times seem tough he is always hiding behind someone or something this supported by the quote ""I don't care what either of you say, I'm not going in there," Charlie retorted. "I remember the Spiders. I'm going to stay right here, thank you very much.""(37). Kat is a tough, serious, and at times a friendly character, she is the more professional and smarter character than the others as she has more experience in the world this supported by the quote ""Well, one, you're on the road to the Adorian Village, which is for players under level five, And two, any smart player would carry any weapons he had for self-defense, now that King passed that new Law." Kat closed her eyes again."(32/33) All the character are dynamic because overtime in the book as they get used to the world and they learn they seem to change their personalities and how they see the word and as they become closer friends.

Book: The Elementia Chronicles Book One: The Quest for Justice
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the book we are not yet introduced to the main conflict but there are many mini conflicts in the beginning of the book. One conflict was Stan and Charlie trying to survive the night when there were monsters out. This conflict is external because it's only happening outside Stan's and Charlie's mind and its their body that is being attacked. It starts when Charlie and Stan were roaming around in the Adorian Trail trying to get to the Adorian Village but the sun started setting. After the sun set Stan and Charlie realize that they need to make a mini house out of dirt to protect themselves from monsters. They build the house but without a roof but they see skeletons through a little hole and see that they have bows and arrows, after the skeletons shoot the arrows almost hitting Charlie and Stan but that should be the least of worries. In the book it states, "Something large had fallen down from the trees and landed right behind a cowering Stan. Without thinking, Stan whipped around and slashed his sword as hard as he could. He made contact; the monster was knocked back and he sliced at it many more times before it finally died. Then he got his first good look at it, and his first god look at it, and his heart gave a terrified jolt" (25). This shows that they were being attacked by giant spiders and later in the same page it tells that more monsters came. This whole problem ended with the Sun coming back up and burning the monsters and them saying "We have to make it to the Adorian Village before nightfall, or we'll have to put up with all those Spiders again" (27).

Book: El Deafo
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the book El Deafo the main character Cece Bell got sick with meningitis when she was 4 and this caused her to go deaf. When Cece went deaf it caused a lot of problems and it made it hard for her to live her everyday life. At first she didn't know she was deaf but she later noticed she couldn't hear the doctors and nurses. The conflict is internal and external. The conflict is internal because her being deaf causes her to be depressed and it caused her to not want to do anything like go to school. It is also external since being deaf is a condition in the body. In page 3 it says, "The fluid from her spine tells us she has meningitis. Her brain might swell- But she's only four!". In page 5 and 6 it says, "Something is different, though. But what? I can't quite figure it out. For one thing, how come I never get any ice cream? The other kid gets it all the time! Why can't Ashley and Sarah come up ti my room to talk to me? And how come the TV doesn't make any sense? Everything is so-quiet. It's time to get up! But I can't stand up-". In the book Cece gets hearing aids and finally hears. She later goes back to school but doesn't have many friends because people think she is weird. In the end of the book Cece finds a really good friend named Martha.
